Stories of Hope is a warm and safe recovery program where community members share their addiction recovery journeys. Guest speakers provide a one-hour share of their various recovery journeys, sharing the struggles of their addictions as well as the story of hope in their recovery. Shelter guests are encouraged to ask the presenter questions to assist in moving forward their own recovery journey.
This is a new series of groups in a men’s group format and women’s group format. The program focuses on communication skills, language, self discovery, relationships, and self esteem.
Cultural meals and crafts - We strive to honour all guests cultures with cultural meal nights and crafts.
SMART recovery group runs every Friday night from 7-8pm for guests attending shelter services.
Though we encourage and support recovery, we understand that guests come to OOTC on all different journeys. Providing non judgemental and supportive care provides the respectful space for conversation related to safe substance use, clean supplies, alternative therapies, support options and overdose awareness. Guests have the ability to access all harm reduction supplies on site as well as staff are trained in overdose/naloxone therapies.
