Kamloops Out Of The Cold Shelter Society was founded in 2007 by a group of concerned community members who wanted to make a difference in the lives of homeless individuals. Since then, we have grown to become a seven night of the week homeless shelter, serving over 14,000 men and women each year.
Our team is made up of dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping others. From our Board of Directors, Executive Director, Shelter staff, Outreach to our Administration and volunteers, we are all committed to providing the best possible care to those in need.
Kamloops Out Of The Cold Shelter Society has achieved many milestones over the years, including expanding our facilities, increasing our outreach efforts, and launching new programmes to better serve our guests. We are proud of what we have accomplished, but there is still much work to be done.
Please reach us at if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our mission is to provide safe and supportive temporary shelter for persons experiencing homelessness, and to help them transition to stable and independent living.
Our staff provide a caring and empathic ear and space for all guests accessing shelter. As we do not have licensed counsellors onsite we strive to connect all guests requiring support, above basic shelter support needs, to community mental health support programs. Outreach workers are available to assist with referral and attending with guests if requested.
We accept monetary donations, clothing, food, hygiene products, and other essential items.
